Day 1: Arrival to Kuala Lumpur
Welcome to Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia! We will meet you at the airport and arrange a transfer to your hotel in Bangi, about 25 km from the city center. After a long flight, you will have time to rest and enjoy the day. In the evening, we will hold a welcome briefing, where we will introduce the itinerary and share tips about Malaysia and Thailand, followed by a shared dinner.
Day 2: Kuala Lumpr surroundings
After a hearty breakfast, we start the day with paperwork and motorbike handover. Then we head straight to the road to get to know the bike and adapt to the Asian traffic rhythm. We drive to Genting Highlands, where we visit the Chin Swee Cave Temple. During the day, we also see the iconic Petrona Towers, the mighty Batu Caves Hindu Temple and the National Mosque. We enjoy lunch at an authentic local restaurant and return to the hotel for dinner and to share our impressions of the day.
Day 3: Kuala Lumpur → Cameron Highland
We leave the capital behind and head north to the highlands (Banjaran Titiwangsa). Wild rainforests, rustic winding roads and breathtaking views of green terraces stretching to the horizon await. It is a great drive that gives you a taste of what the best mountain roads in Malaysia have to offer. We enjoy lunch at a local village restaurant. We stay overnight at the top of the mountain in Cameron Highlands.
Day 4: Cameron Highland → Betong, Thai (border crossing)
We are heading to Thailand and crossing the border! We will take care of all the formalities related to the border crossing and we only ask you to keep your passport conveniently within reach. Before crossing the Malaysia-Thailand border, we will stop and enjoy lunch at a local restaurant by Lake Raban. As soon as we arrive in Betong, we will feel the different energy of the southern provinces of Thailand. Our hotel in Betong is located just 35 minutes from the border.
Day 5: Betong → Hatyai
This is one of our favorite days of the trip! We start with an 80-kilometer winding road to Yala and then head along the coastal road to reach Songkhla. Our plan is to arrive in time to enjoy lunch at the Water Village restaurant, which serves Thai cuisine. After lunch, we also visit a Buddhist temple to immerse ourselves in Thai culture and take some amazing photos.
Day 6: Hatyai → Koh Lanta island
We head to the west coast of Thailand and take a short ferry ride to Koh Lanta, where wild landscapes give way to bright blue seas and white sand. It's time to relax and enjoy.
Day 7: Koh Lanta rest day
Free and Easy Day! This is a day where both you and your motorbike can relax. We enjoy the day by lying on the beach, enjoying a Thai massage or water sports. If you wish, you can also participate in an island tour (advance booking required for an additional fee). Lunch and dinner are your own choice and expense on this day off, so you can discover the food places you like the most.
Day 8: Koh Lanta → Satun → Penang (border crossing)
After a refreshing break, we head towards Malaysia and cross the border again. Please keep your passport handy. We have a wonderful day of driving along the Andaman Coastal Road to the Malaysian border. After crossing the border, we drive directly to the island of Penang. We enjoy the day and the hustle and bustle of Penang, and then gather for dinner at the Gurney Drive food street, where we can taste a wide range of local delicacies.
Day 9: Penang → Ipoh
We start the day with a visit to Penang Hill. Then we drive down to Batu Ferringhi beach to enjoy a coffee or brunch at the Hard Rock Café. Before crossing the bridge back to the mainland, we visit the War Museum and then head to Ipoh.
Day 10: Ipoh → Kuala Lumpur
This is our last day of travel! Our first stop is the mysterious and historic Kellie Castle. From there, we will continue our journey to Trolak to enjoy lunch at the local Bamboo Mix Rice restaurant. We plan to arrive at our hotel in Kuala Lumpur before 4:00 PM, so you have enough time to rest and pack before your flight home.
Day 11: Transfer to airport
We say goodbye to Southeast Asia and fly back home, leaving with more stories than can fit in a suitcase.
